Dinosaur Embryos - AR Incubator
I developed these Dinosaur Embryo models and animations during my time at 'Apache' for an unnamed touring Augmented Reality experience. The guests are able to view the physical eggs in the incubator set, and using an AR camera, can scan and reveal the growing embryo inside.
There are 6 Dinosaur species in the experience, divided between myself and Becky Scott. I worked on the Velociraptor, Parasaurolophus and Stygimoloch sculpts, models, animations, as well developing the look and feel inside Unity.
Due to the nature of scanning the embryo through the eggshell, the design called for some extensive Post Process to make the technology seem feasible. This was a fun exercise in posing and lighting, as well as exaggerating parts of the models and materials to get the best results.
